There are so many other things you could do to make these parties safer rather than changing a Western institution. This is going to hurt the homecoming game attendance because Alumni won't be able to attend two different weekends. You'll be forcing students to miss out on a Western tradition of they want to study, since it will be two big party weekends in a row, and messing with their midterms if they do go. These are "un sanctioned events" because they are HOUSE PARTIES and thus NONE OF THE UNIVERSITY'S BUSINESS.
Why not make an ambulance lane with a barrier to make it safer? ? Why not just have some more police around? Why not just sanction it as a block party? London has no problem cordoning off the whole damn downtown for half the summer. And it's nobody's business WHO comes to these events because they're private parties!
Chakma is the absolute worst. He already tried to snake away with a million dollars, now he's going to ruin homecoming as his parting gift? Nice.

Honestly, students will never NOT participate in HOCO - its a tradition. Putting it between Thanksgiving and Halloween will just give students less study time, that is much needed for exams. If you want less out of western students, continue putting limits on guests in res.

This change of date for Western's 2016 HOCO will do more bad than good.

The only overall outcome of the date change will be poorer midterm scores.

October is midterm season for many faculties including mine, it was irresponsible for the university to move HOCO.

Changing the date wont solve anything, will in fact cause more problems.
