I believe that a later start time for HS and MS is a viable option. Given the importance of high school and the increasing demands placed on high school students, changing school start times has a longer term higher benefit for the students. The thoroughness of the committee's work is apparent on the WHPS website.

Others seem to think our kids’ health is of secondary concern. I don’t. For this issue, it should be our only concern.

As a therapist, we are seeing alarming rates of depression, anxiety, substance use and other mental health disorders among our youth. We know later start times makes a difference in this. Let’s do everything we can to create a climate in which our children can thrive through their high school years.

I strongly support delaying the high school start time because of the data which show that it will benefit our students' mental health (anxiety/depression). It could literally save lives. Thank you!!!

Please start high school later. Please put the mental and physical health of our kids ahead of logistical concerns.

In the morning I drive my daughter to her bus stop which is three blocks away. During the fall & winter cars drive through blinking yellow traffic lights pretty fast and on during dark and rainy days you can barely see students/pedestrians crossing street. I believe this will help the students be safe. It will also help the students getting a bit more sleep. Thank you

former weha public school student who suffered through waking up earlier than my body was ready and being withdrawn in school as a result of exhaustion. Now as a 22 year old I am a morning person and wake up at 6:30 every day, but high school students are developmentally not there yet!! Please spare my littlest brother from the sleep deprivation the rest of us faced
