Since 2016, Eurovision has seen a big change in its voting system- that rather than each country giving 1-12 points from combining the jury and televote, each country gives 1-12 from the jury and a second set from the televote. This is not the problem. The problem is that the so-called “spokesperson” is now only a spokesperson for the jury and this is not a true representation of the country’s viewpoint yet each spokesperson has their country’s name attached to them. Considering that the jury’s whole purpose is to give a unanimous, professional viewpoint surely the jury results shouldn’t actually vary very much from country to country meaning that it makes more sense to put all jury points together (like what has happened with the televote in previous years) and instead let the spokesperson from each country announce the televote so they can act as a spokesperson for the culture and musical taste of their respective country. Not only would it be more representative of the country, but the people watching who have voted will be able to see the difference their vote made.

I plan for this petition to be seen by some of the leading Eurovision online blogs such as wiwibloggs.com as well as some of the members of the EBU who are in charge of voting and broadcasting such as Jon Ola Sand.
