We can't get away from them, maybe 50% survive, and we handle them with the upmost of care

It’s definitely time for a change in this species management and obviously we have far more than possibly south of us. But, when we have to stop fishing to get away from them it’s time for a change.

Red snapper are far too abundant in shallow waters. Grouper and sea bass populations have suffered. Far too many of these snapper are being attacked by predators during catch and release. The season needs to be changed to reflect current populations in the Carolinas in order to manage our bottom fish populations

I can’t catch other fish on the reef because there are too many Red Snapper. We should have the same season as they do in the GOM.

These regulations need to be turned over to the States like in the Gulf Of Mexico. The SAFMC is operating on bad information.
