the fda needs to change the warning lables on all hormonal drug based birth control, they simply only state may cause blood clots, stroke, or heart attack. and smoking may increase that risk. this should be amended to include if you experience symptoms of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack seek medical treatment immediately. as those side effects can be deadly, as they were to my sister who passed away on august 28th 2013 due to a pulmonary embolism caused by her birth control, she never smoked or drank ever, had her doctor warned her if she had symptoms of blood clots her life may have been saved.
