Change the use of ceramic crockery in nurseries to melamine or similar

This awful accident could have been easily prevented if plastic plates had been used. Just common sense really!

Poor wee man I hope they do the right thing and not risk any further injuries to other kids.

That is shocking! Please share and stop using these plates. No reason why plastic can't be used.

Why do they have ceramic in nursery? Obviously accidents are more prone when kids are in nursery so every precaution should be taken. Should be plastic plates and cups everyday. Was plastic when my two were at nursery so why change it? Hope he's OK xxx

Any risk assessment would clearly show the dangers of utilizing ceramic plates with preschool children. No nursery should provide young children with anything other than a plastic plate x

Horrendous injuries caused to this poor wee boy. Why on earth are they given ceramic plates? I’ve only started giving my 7 year old a ceramic plate at home but even then I carry it to and from the table.

We wouldn't give them ceramic plates at home so what makes them think we would want them to have them at home. Surely it's the parents decision x
