It's pathetic. Making students miss out ok valuable school time

Even if the policy doesn't change, we've still created awareness , that'll be sure to change teachers cruel decision making when a haircut is deemed 'extreme'!!

One of my best mates goes to this school, and the rules are ridiculous.

I agree totally with the comments made. This type of issue only creates contempt.

just change the goddam policy

All children are different and express themselves how they feel and should be aloud by school the colour of there hair and how short there skirt is or if they are in black or grey trousers should not matter as long as they are willing to learn

The website actually says "extreme haircuts" made me lol honestly. Sort it out Lower School.

when I was in Adams it was a fantastic school and always had help and encouragement from teachers, I also had multicoloured hair, brightest highlights I could get, and had my own Sence of style, not once was it mentioned! I don't understand this new rule, other schools are also doing it!!! It doesn't affect their education but makes them feel they can't be their own person!!! Good going on the petition! Hope the school boards see sence soon.

A lot seems to have changed since I left the place - and it certainly seems it's not for the better. I find it completely idiotic to isolate children from the rest of the school and have them miss important lessons. So your hair is short? Long? How in what way does that affect the ability to learn? Would you isolate a child because of their religion? I don't see how this is any different. Definitely lowers my opinion of the school - I won't be sending my children to a place that treats students like this.

I 100% back this up the teen age years are when you explore yourself and experiment . they become thereselfs and express this in different ways. I believe the school should have a uniform but shouldn't tell the children not to have there hair or make up a certain way they should express themselves as they wish. I left Adams school 6 years ago and you could have your hair how you wished as long as girls hair was tied up for p.e or food tech then it didn't matter on the style take it back to that. These children shouldn't be made to look like a clone of one another :)

Individual is what sets us apart.. I agree totally on uniform.. But the rest has nothing to do with education.. Its getting out of hand and these children are our future what impression you putting on them. That they will not fit in to society or be educated or have jobs or decent life cuz they look different.. So they must follow suit... We are all not the same.. Its that simple... Get over it change the stupid policy.. we are a world of difference and histow and culture let things be different

Things are getting worse at Thomas Adams the uniform being one of the problems.

It's about time something is done to correct the failing standards at Thomas Adams. The teachers should be encouraging each individual pupil to celebrate their differences and individuality instead of blocking them doing this! Back when I was there, it was deemed ok for lads to have words/pictures shaved into their hair as long as the words/pictures weren't offensive or rude!

What a child looks like should not have anything to do with there ability to learn

Think they should put more energy into more important issues.
