The Michigan Equal Emploment Opportunity Law does not protect GLBT people. In fact the law only provides protection for those based on " race, religion, color, sex, height, weight, marital status, national origin, or disability". This is unfair to GLBT persons, as many people have been fired from their jobs solely because the employer just assumed they were gay, wheather they are or aren't. By signing this petition, you are saying that you agree that tthe law needs to be changed to include GLBT persons, and that you are telling the state government that discrimination against any group of people is not tolerable.
