The next Transformers series, slated to air on television in the spring of 2015, will be called "Robots In Disguise." This is lazy marketing by the Hasbro people. In 2001-2002 on the Fox Network's FoxKids block, a series by that very name already aired on television and was sold in stores. It's one thing to have many versions of the same character name get reused. That much the fan base has accepted being there are over 1,000 Transformers characters. There aren't 1,000 Transformers TV series however and it's unreasonable to make that same justification now. In 30 years, there have been 10 series that made it to television, so originality in naming them is still a must. Seeing as Transformers series names have changed at the "11th hour" more than once before (Beast Machines changed from it's original title of Beast Hunters, and Transformers Heroes became Transformers Animated), it's not a huge ordeal, with months to go, to pick another title. The afore mentioned "Heroes" could fit well. Perhaps even one as long standing as the "RiD" subtitle such as "More Than Meets The Eye" (MTMTE). This could set a bad trend into motion to reuse a specific series name all over again along with a lot of confusion to boot. By signing this, you make it clear Hasbro has to make a better effort to differentiate their Transformers brand offerings.
