Great gal. I spent my fair share of time in the principle's office and she always gave me a fair shake. She asked where I was from and other personal questions and shared things about herself with me.. Tough but fair. Always stopped into her tiny office and said hi to her through out my middle school career.

She was a permanent structure in that school and it would be a great memorial to her amazing soul.

I first met Mrs Burgess at Park Middle School. She was the 7th grade Principal. She always greeted every student as individual. She knew your name and your likes. Even 40 years later I met her on a Columbia River Cruise. She still remember me by name and gave me a hug. Her greatest gift was her love of her students. We became part of her family. As students we worked harder to do good and win one of her special smiles.
