1. It's time Americans stand together to stop the spread of Opiate addiction. We need to face the fact that we have let our children down by not requiring big pharma to properly label opiate based prescriptions. After finding my son had become addicted to Percocet a couple of years ago I felt relieved that the problem was not cocaine or alcohol. I will tell you after two years of learning about this drug I can safely say this is the largest hoax ever perpetrated on the American public. The folks that came up with the names Oxycotin and Percocet should win an award for the most the deceptive advertising in the history of the world. I have been asked numerous times from politicians to folks in the field dealing with addiction what I would do to make an immediate impact to stop the spread of this disease. My answer is the same tonight as it was two years ago! Simply list the drugs below with a name the regular person will understand. I am sick of hearing that these drugs are safe when 4 out of 5 folks hooked on heroin started with Percocet or Oxycotin.
2. Change Percocet to Heroin 1
3. Change Oxycotin to Heroin 2
4. Change any other Opiate based prescription in the order of strength.

This simple change would not require one dime of taxpayer money and would garner instant respect from parents on the danger of these drugs. Imagine going to the dentist with your fifteen year old son and being offered Heroin 2 as an option. It may not stop folks from taking the prescription but it will certainly start a vital conversation with the Doctor. My guess is 99% of moms and dads would end up taking the 800 milligram ibuprofen as the alternative. Please sign this petition and help reverse this awful trend. Our future depends on it
