Change the Name and postcode from Docklands 3008 to Yarra's Edge 3007

Yarras Edge truly is its on little hub and community, and in contrast to the rest of the Docklands community. We are separated by the Yarra River, with very few access points to the main Docklands area. With the Fisherman's Bend framework being developed for even more areas and 'new suburbs' on "our side of the river", it is timely to consider changing the Yarras Edge community to what we all know and love it for. We are different to the broader Docklands area. We are a mostly owner occupied community of tight knit residents, and we pay for the privilege to be in 'Yarras Edge' (comparable apartments in size from the Yarras Edge area), are about 50 to 100k more than their Docklands counterparts, simply for being in Yarras Edge.

I have lived in Yarra‘s edge ( Docklands) for 10 years in the past 10 years a lot has changed with a lot more high rise towers going up most taxi drives Uber and friends in general consider Doclands to be on the marvel stadium side and it courses a lot of confusion as a result when we order an Uber or taxi ride they get lost and end up on the other side resulting in cancellations and frustration by both parties as Uber charge a 10 dollar cancellation fee as well as making residents of yarra’s edge after running late or missing appointments the idea of living in the city is so we don’t require a vehicle but that has become very frustrating due to the confusion regards Docklands

Docklands is confusing for our stretch south of the river. Yarra’s edge is more indicative of the physical location and would assist with way finding.

Great initiative that will further individualize the area and give a stronger voice to all residents !

Yarra's Edge is physically separated from the main Docklands area by the Yarra river and such requires its own identity. Precedence is set across other areas of Melbourne which have barriers that distinguish between regions be they main roads, creeks and airports.

I think it would be a great idea for our postcode to be changed to 3007. We are very distinct district from 3008. It also confuses a lot of people. I personally think we should be called South Wharf of Yarra's Edge but perhaps that is another issue

We would like Yarra’s Edge as a separate suburb having its own post code 3007, which I believe is available. Southbank has 3006 and Docklands has 3008 so why not? We still will come under the Docklands precinct but, as an area, our population is growing rapidly and our area has some unique qualities that needs to be identified separately to the Docklands area

The change of postcode would really help deliveries as the drivers usally end up on the other side of the river or even the DFO area.

Docklands development has reached the stage where an individual postcode for 'Yarra's Edge' just makes sense.

We live in a unique part of Melbourne which is more closely associated with Port Melbourne

Certainly a great idea. Most Melbournians don't realise that part of Docklands is on the south side of the river. Renaming it would avoid confusion.

Absolutely agree. Yarra's Edge is not considered Docklands. It should be separated and Yarra's Edge 3007 would be perfect.

Yarra’s Edge is distinctly different from Docklands and definitely should have its own postcode
