Burns is the bard of Scotland just as Shakespeare is the bard of England. Neither represent Britain. This I'm afraid smacks of I'll informed foreigners confusing Britain and it's constituent nations. Start informing yourselves or risk losing a lot of support, Facebook.

France, Spain, Italy etc have their own flags not the European flag! Why do we have a flag of a joining of countries and not our own I.e Welsh flag, Irish flag, English and Scottish flag?

Mark, I'm an 10th generation Yank, not all of us are ignorant to History. I was very irate when I saw the Union Jack for celebrating Burns Supper, so I started this petition. I agree with you on senseless endless conflicts as well. Be well.

Burns night is sacred to Scotland and the people of Scotland, only us Scots celebrates his birth. Change the flag to represent his country of birth.

It's insulting to Robert Burn's legacy. He is world renowned as Scottish poet/song written not the UK. So Facebook having a Union Jack flag next to celebrating Robert Burns looks more like Facebook is trying to make some sort of ill-advised and unconsidered statement.

This is a mainly Scottish celebration of a Scottish poet so the Saltire is the only flag for this day.
