A complete lack of understanding of burns and his views of the U.K. He was against it and would be aghast at having the union flag anywhere near his name

Hi, Kathleen, my name's Glenn Wm. Wymore, I started this petition today after a friend in Scotland told me about it. I'm a 10th Generation Yank, and this irritated me to no end last night so I pondered on it, slept on it, and posted this this morning. Not all Americans are clueless. I love your country, have for since I was a boy, and hope to visit it. Slàinte!

To have this event marked anywhere with a Union Jack flag is downright disrespect and disgusting. This has NOTHING to do with the government or politics but just has to do with what is correct and accurate!

Using the Union Flag for Burns Night is very inappropriate because the poet is known and widely acclaimed as the National Bard of Scotland, not the Bard of the United Kingdom.

Robert Burns is a Scottish icon, loved and admired all over the world and indisputably known for his Scottish poetry, written in Scots for Scots.

This is akin to only having the european union flag for people in France or Spain and would not be tolerated. We are a distinct and devolved part of the UK, with our own national flag and anthem, surely it wouldnt take too great an effort by Facebook to change this?

You do a good job normally but please remember that the United Kingdom is a Union of Nations, Scotland being one of them and this is for Scotland's NATIONAL bard.
