Rabbie Burns was a Scot. He hated the whole idea of union with England. The Union Jack is an insult to his memory. Te English do not celebrate his memory.

It's a Scottish celebration not British! And Welsh, English or Northern Irish don't celebrate it so why fly the union flag! Also he is Scottish ha!

It would be as appropriate (or inappropriate) and less offensive to many Scots to have used the EU flag as the "Disunity Jack" which represents colonial power.
An increasing number of Scots, myself included, see ourselves as Scots not British (except in the geographical sense of being part of the British Isles, which would include the Irish as British) but European.
Use of the Union Jack is insulting (albeit unintentionally) to many Scots. We should be obliged if you could change it.

He's ours in the same manner that Andy Murray is ours. Unfortunately both had to play the Union game for their livelihoods but both are proud Scots and should be recognised as such!!

Total disgrace that Facebook even thought this was a day anyone other than Scotland held in high regard. Get our flag posted, not the Union Jack.

Typical, of people who are insensitive, and definitely not like our National Bard "Rabbie" who was sensitive - ask the wee field mouse.

Burns Night is a celebration deeply rooted in Scottish culture, history, and literature. If youre going to change the icon at all, to honour Burns Night supper, please be courteous AND accurate: use the Scottish flag (St. Andrew's cross) instead of the Union Jack, which does not represent or serve yhe beautiful people of Bonnie Scotland! It is quite insulting but could just be an innocent error, lack of thought or research, easily rectified by having the correct flag used, the Saltire, Scotland's flag to represent such a uniquely Scottish event, thank you in advance for changing it.
