There are so many great mascots out there, it is offensive to stick with such an insensitive inaccurate one.

This would be a very compassionate move and a good lesson to our children. It’s important to stay open minded throughout life, and when new information makes “old ways” obsolete, especially when it comes to respect for all cultures, then things must change...its time to move on at Guilford HS...

Races, ethnicities, and cultures should never be mascots. Celebrate the indigenous people who lived here before us by learning about them and their history, not by reducing them a stereotype on a sports jersey.
