We are 5th and 6th grade students, and we want to open a dialogue with our school administration and community about our school's current discriminatory dress code.

Administration says the following clothing options are "distracting to students:"

• undergarments (no bra straps or undershirt straps showing at all)
• shirts, sweaters and jackets that cover shorts
• shirts that do not cover the midriff

We want to discuss alternate dress codes that are non-discriminatory towards ability, gender, or body type, and that also support all students' needs.
