The state of affairs in Ireland regarding visas, GNIB, work permit is just beyond any highest state of inconvenience and has stooped very low in its consideration for the immigrants and skilled professionals in Ireland. By no means this change represents the idea of making the foreigners feel convenient. I am just falling short of words to express my anguish towards this broken system and how these agencies can still continue to go downhill. This is highly Hippocratic where on one hand Ireland is promoted as a multicultural country that's open to immigrats but in other hand they make it highly difficult and nearly impossible for anyone to plan and consider Ireland as a long-term place to live.

this change should be reverted as it would add to problem for non EU people - at the time when each organisation is bringing system online to ease the process and decrease delay time, restricting online process to just for emergency situation is insane. this will put more pressure on employee at INIS and postal services.

Firstly, the reentry visa requirement is itself a senseless thing. And if it's going to take this long to even visit your own country or even step out of Ireland, it's nothing but an addition to the insensitivity towards immigrants.

I agree that this is going to make life very hard for non EU residents, but let us not forget that the older online appointment process was also broken. It was next to impossible to get an appointment in time. The biggest question is why the need for a separate visa and process of giving permission to re-enter the country when you have already been granted permission to stay here. It is pure bureaucracy.
Just think of the time wasted by all non EU residents in running around for all this paperwork every single year.
