Abolish Re Entry Visa altogether. Critical Skills Employment Permit holders must be allowed to visit the country multiple times as long permit is valid. Renewing this every year is a big headache as well too costly. Even after getting Stamp 4 re entry visa applies which is a big pain.

I’m a student for the year 2018-19. I got diagnosed with a critical illness during the Christmas break from an Irish public hospital and needed an emergency re-entry visa. I had to travel three times from the outskirts of Dublin where I lived to the visa office as there were no online appointments available and was rudely sent back home by the officials. Also the fee explanation for the ‘emergency multi-entry re-entry visa’ on the website is highly absurd and as good as invisible to most, due to which I had to take two trips to the bank to get a draft of 160€ initially and then 40€ In my next trip to the office.

Re entry visa concept makes no sense in a developed country. It brings in great inconvenience to the immigrants and is an unwanted burden on the system itself. Scrapping the re-entry visa can help them use the resources for more important tasks like the GNIB appointments.

It is extremely difficult to arrange travel plans because of this scheme. We're stuck within the boundaries of the country for nearly 6-8 weeks considering renewal of GNIB and obtaining a multiple entry permit in every year. If the multiple entry system has to stay, at least incorporate the standard while we're renewing our GNIB cards.
