Change the CSTAC Building Name to Finnegan Center for Communication Studies and Theatre

In honor of former Longwood President Patrick Finnegan, we would like to rename the Center for Communication Studies and Theatre, to the “Finnegan Center for the Study of Communications and Theatre,” or “Finnegan Center” for short.
Whereas, President Finnegan did so much for Longwood, and put the University on the map.
Whereas, a man that has served his country in the United States Army, Finnegan led Longwood into the 2010s, ushering in a new era of pride at Longwood.
Whereas, he spearheaded the effort for Longwood to join an NCAA Division I Athletic Conference, landing the Lancers in the Big South Conference in 2012.
Whereas, he also led the effort for the Academic Strategic Plan, in an effort to increase the academic status of the University.
Whereas, his time at Longwood was short, but his impact was immeasurable.
For these and other reasons, we hereby petition to name the “CSTAC” Building at Longwood University in honor of Longwood’s 25th President, Brigadier General Patrick Finnegan.

Post this petition link on your Facebook page right now to keep the pressure on the administration. You must text three alumni today and tell them why this legacy matters to our school.

it is the least we can do for all his hard work. he really changed the culture here for the better.
he honestly transformed this place. so glad someone is finally pushing for this.
He did so much for this school in a short time. He really put Longwood on the map and deserves this honor.
