Sign this petition if you'd like to change the Graduation date to be in December 2020 rather than February 2021!
Current Social Work students from Curtin University who are completing their final placement are set to finish our studies by the start of November. However, we are not expected to graduate until February 2020. Within this period, it will be incredibly hard to obtain employment in the industry without our official Certificate. Even if we do obtain employment in the industry, it will most likely be in a non Social Work role and/or pay less than a graduate employee. Especially given the current COVID-19 climate, everyone needs to secure employment and have a secure source of income as soon as possible following placement. This is particularly an issue for Social Work students as we are currently completing 525 of UNPAID practice and will need to work immediately after we finish to catch up on finances.

OT and Speech Pathology students have the same graduation - I think it would be awesome to extend this to their fields as well as although they don't have the same practical requirements they face the same graduation delay

Waiting until Feb is just way too long when we are already finished placement. Need to start earning money to pay rent, its ridiculous we have to wait months just for a piece of paper.
