As of September 2, 2021, the iOS version of Smule has been changed to a horrendous and difficult to use application. The current version has removed the subcategories on profiles and instead forced them all into one place. The consequences of this are innumerable but I will attempt to describe some: (1) the new “grid” view is cluttered and removes important information like singers, dates, and song information, (2) invites are no longer easily accessible, now you have to go through your entire “channel” to find them and when you do they do not show up as an invite nor do they tell you when they close or when they were opened, (3) bios are now sequestered to the only other “category” (if you could even call it that) on the profile entitled “about”, you do not see anyone’s bio by simply accessing their page, (4) gifts, a source of pride and accomplishment, are again sequestered to the very bottom of this “about” category, (5) the bookmarked invites are also in the “about” section despite them truly having nothing to do with the person other than to “watch” them, and so much more.

This is a continuous occurrence with Smule, they “fix” things that require no fixing. There was nothing wrong with the way profiles were before. The previous version had profiles with multiple neat and orderly subcategories that worked perfectly fine. This new version effectively destroys invites and achievements while simultaneously diminishing and disregarding user experience(s).

With this petition, which will be sent to the company Smule, Inc., using their readily available support email ([email protected]), that oversees all Smule applications, it is our hope that Smule will stop discrediting and diminishing user experiences and grievances and return the app to the previous version.
