have been let down by people who don't read the listing yet complain about something and it clearly states what we have on offer and how far from shops we are it then becomes our problem as it hurts our rating.

I am constantly made to feel unworthy and failing when I get 4 stars. Guests often write a glowing review and give 4 stars thinking this is a great rating, but then we are penalised for getting anything lower than a 5 (algorithms and warnings). Often getting 5 stars for lol sub categories and then a 4 star overall... this has greatly affected our bookings. I’m on several Airbnb Facebook groups and I can tell you that this is affecting the mental health of hosts- most are hosts that work incredibly hard to give the guest a wonderful stay. Why do Airbnb care so little about their hosts? Airbnb, pls listen to us. It’s not because we want to be able to provide a lessor quality of stay but because so often we are rated under misunderstanding of the rating system. If you tell guests 4 stars denote a great stay then treat it like that pls.

The current review system is poorly understood by Guests, causes a huge amount of undue stress to Hosts and is too open to different interpretations. Please make it a more robust system with clearly defined rules and boundaries so that Listings can be fairly rated and compared.

I am lucky to get 5 stars but less than 5 stars imply poor which should not be the case. I got 4 stars once for a sticky remote control on a device. ( plastic gets a bit that way over time so it wasn’t covered in jam)! Tiny thing! Another 4 star for location once. We are much cheaper than absolute beachfront so why rate the place less ?

How can a rating of four which is called good then be considered a low rating?

I think your review system is highly unfair. Also Airbnb suspends our listings because of guests unwarranted comments or not understanding the rating system. We are constantly being stressed feared with warnings that our listing will be suspended. I am supporting many orher hosts

If the star rating is to stay then property inspections need to come back! And nobody wants that! The public need to be educated on how to score!
