I stay in Orphir and I feel that when it snows the roads are unsafe going to town, especially in the mornings.

I support this petition wholeheartedly for many of the reasons given - not least to make the roads safe for emergency services and those supporting the more vulnerable in our community... And especially those needing to travel to work outside the current operating hours - which I suspect is a majority of our working population.

Get inline with rest of the country and take care of the roads properly. Else where in the country the gritters start earlier when they know it's going to be freezing or snowy

Totally agree with this petition
The roads are unsafe even at 8am when just a small amount of snow.

I do on call for NHSO and am called out when the roads are at their worst. I need to respond quickly and the roads have been shocking!

Absolutely! OIC have Home Care night support workers who require to visit clients during the night as well as emergency services having to go out. It's quite simple..put the gritters on a split shift system.

Yes it would be better for drivers but the side roads need it as well.

I think the gritters should be more involved before the snow and black ice is here wellfore and well after because I know someone who lost a car due to this the council should get there finger out and actually do something about it not sit on there arse doing bugger all

L.own harbour taxis our drivers go out between the hours of 5 6 in the morning to get people to work or to catch a,ferry also we take school kids to school in the morning we work late at nite as well l lost a,taxis because the road where not gritted mind you it could have been a lot worse l could have lost a driver and a customer too but l didn't but that not the point how would they feel if it was one off there family l won't something done about this

I agree that the council should extend their gritting hours as Harbour Taxis lost a taxi through their lack of gritting roads

council cut backs = less gritters this will never work until drivers get better pay and conditions waste of a petition
