I have heard many disturbing things about Mr. Applewhite. Inappreciate touching, trying to back down on promises or changing the rewards for things.

was a terrible principal my 4 years of high school there. blantant displays of favoritism, disrespectful to students in need, &completely useless when it came to problem solving.

I don't understand how a homophobic and power/money hungry dude could be the principal of a once humble, accepting high school environment. I was a victim of his first year and it was already apparent he was there for the wrong reasons. The MSHA students and staff are some of the most unique that I will always hold close to my heart. Mr. Applewhite not so much. There's just no place for him at an art school when he doesn't have the heart for it at all and makes it known that it's all about him.

I'm signing this petition as I am a former student who did not get to finish my high school life as I wanted to at MHSA. Mr Barry Applewhite is a COMPULSIVE LIAR who does what he feels best for him, not the school. Being a new student to the school in September, I approached Mr Applewhite to introduce myself. This man did not once looked me in my eyes and say WELCOME TO MHSA. He continued looking at others, investigating there business instead of what happening in front of him.
As a person who is LGBTQ, the staff and student are very welcoming and loving to be around. However approaching Applewhite, you get a negative feeling coming from him. He try's to manipulate you and stare you down like your under him. That's not what we're looking for at the Arts.

He does not do his job at all I attended mhsa I left in December because every time I had an argument with an student he'd send me home n I had to have my parent come in the next day and when she got there he wouldn't talk about the situation he'd talk about my grades and they had me on a policy paper where I had to come to school n leave after nor I couldn't do after school programs
