Don't agree with fees charge when participating with Gaeltacht online

Ridiculous expense. They might as well turn on TG4 for the fortnight.

Outrageous & unjustified costs. I am beginning the course, it's expensive enough already. Paying for Gaeltacht at home, that is not immersion or what the Gaeltacht is about.
Furthermore we Hibernia PME students should be treated the same as all other PME students & have the Gaeltacht fees paid for or are we funding the public places too?
Please rectify this situation ASAP.

As a mother and teacher, I strongly support the Gaeltacht experience for students. I have always considered it to be exorbitantly expensive however.... my understanding is that UCC gaeilge students have always paid much less than Mary I students. Charging €650 for a 2 week online experience where I must also pay to feed, heat and generally look after my student son is beyond exorbitant!!!

Third level students have already paid enough for their degrees that they now cannot study properly due to the pandemic without having to pay an additional 650 euro for sitting at home and getting more content delivered to them. It's an absolute disgrace and anyone with any concern whatsoever for the education of the people of this country should get their act together and do what is right for the people not for the greedy institutions. Governments are not elected by college deans, they're elected by people, most of whom have to go through the education system to get a job to survive.

It is not fair in the middle of a pandemic to expect students teachers to have to pay €650 to attend a virtual Gaeltacht. Also, all teacher training colleges should be treated equally when receiving Governor grants, including Hibernia College.

My daughter is a student teacher with Hibernia and its ridiculous expecting her to pay €650 to sit in her bedroom and not get the full immersion of Irish that she needs.

In a 'just' society these students are entitled to the same benefits from education and grants as all other trainee teachers. It is a question of values.

It is totally exorbitant and unfair to expect trainee teachers to pay normal fees for an online course. Considering how difficult this past year has been on student teachers it would show solidarity and empathy to offer the Gaeltacht course for a nominal fee.
