While not mentioned in the petition, I as a Landscape Architecture student at the WAAC have witnessed the changes and hard line of the Dean first hand. I've been asked not to include VT administration and student support staff in e-mails. Veiled threats have been made when I defied those orders. It's an issue for all of us affiliated with the VT.

I have witnessed first hand the wanton destruction Dean Blythe has caused during his tenure. Remove him before one of our greatest assets in Architectural education is gone forever.

Certain things should not change:
• Civil discourse
• A healthy working environment
• A working environment that isn’t hostile
• Communicating respectfully with all parties
• Being able to professionally express oneself without fear of unprofessional reprisals
• Transparency in administrative decision making
• The right to reasonably question authority
• The right to hold authority accountable to the ‘governed’
If any party declares that they are ‘change’ and that all others must either ‘embrace’ or ‘be left behind’, where is the opportunity to question, understand, vet, validate, discover, and conclude that the party is indeed ‘change’ for the better rather than merely ‘change’ for the sake of ‘change’ or a detrimental ‘change’ that doesn’t serve to mold a positive ‘Beyond Boundaries’ future?

There are always those that presume to prosper under any leadership...which should not be construed as a testament of the quality of the 'leadership'. The nature of existence is change, I've heard no suggestion to the contrary from the aggrieved. It is a matter of methodology.
