Change MPTI Seminar

I strongly agree with most of what was said above! I would add that I'd love to have been able to choose an extra module rather than the seminar. I love the presentations but that could be a separate thing, no need to make it a class where nonsensical homework is given.

Using the seminar to do more collaboration with MPTI people , maybe a weekly "speed date" to share what we are working on (assignment/personal music/CE).

I agree with most of the previous comments about the benefits/purpose of the class. While it was a good ice breaker in the beginning of the semester to gather all of MPTI in the same room, it seems now that the assignments don't have much relevance to the learning goals of the master's program and the overall CE projects. Since this is the only time MPTI is all in the same space, I think it would be much more useful to take this opportunity to provide feedback on each other's production/music, their in class projects, and potential CE ideas. With such a limited amount of time and everyone being so busy, these three hours could be used more strategically and homework assignments could be assigned with more specific purpose.

I think the class can be much more rewarding than what it is atm. We can talk more about faculty members side projects, listen to each others music, share tips etc. Instead I feel like we are wasting time by watching videos most of us already saw on Facebook before.

Besides some of the talks, seminar seems kind of strung together. We could use this time to share our tracks with each other and work collaboratively.

id like the course to be more socratic. its the only time MPTI is in one room. if assignments were broad so each student could tailor it to their own CE and class became more of a "show and tell" that would be immensely helpful. We have so many different specialties and experience levels, we could help each other

I do not see the benefits of this class so far. The homework assignments are much more of a distraction than something I am learning from. I would LOVE to maybe use seminar as a time we could share projects we are working on or collaborations. It's the only time all MPTI students are in the sameness room and I think we could learn much more from sharing our own ideas and projects than what the class has offered so far.

I am only having concerns about the way homeworks are assigned and the exact purpose of the assignement.

I'm trying to give my best while I'm at Berklee Valencia, trying to work as much as I can in my music, which is my main subject. The seminar class, except from when guests come it's pointless in terms of content. I have to spend so many time editing videos and spending hours on other subjects that won't help me develop my music. I think this should be more about actual music instead of abstract themes and exercises.

I feel as though the curriculum is scattered and not planned out. If the goal is to work on our CE’s, then it should be more workshop oriented. If it is to learn how to present/make videos, then it should be related directly to our classwork rather than poorly executed attempts at getting us to know one another. At this point, it has been more of a distraction than an aid.
