Alumnae, parent, employee. If it is standard across the country, then it should be so here. Grade should already be weighted by a passing grade. Perhaps more students would tackle an AP level class if their in-class participation and testing were sufficient. Lots of lost opportunity for our students and district.

As a person with learning disabilities standardized testing is a struggle for me to preform well on them all the time. And it seems unfair at an already hyper competitive high school to have additional disadvantages against other high schools. I’m a student

If a student has been able to keep up with rigorous coursework, their grade should reflect that, regardless of how they performed on one single assessment.

I have a current freshman taking AP courses as well as a seventh grader who will participate in AP at MHS. I agree with the reasoning stated in this petition to change the AP test policy.

I have a 10th grader taking multiple AP and IB classes. The work she puts in day to day is deserving of a weighted grade and there is so much pressure for that one test to get a certain grade to make the whole years worth of work worth it. The policy needs to be changed!

I’m a Minnetonka parent and for several reasons believe that the weighted grade should not be tied to a one day result. So much can happen on that one day and if a child doesn’t gain the score requirement all of their hard work over the entire semester is effected. They could not feel good that day, they could have a personal issue, they could struggle personally with taking tests, there are so many factors! Please just give the kids a weighted grade for the semester regardless on their performance on a test but because they worked hard all semester to earn the grade.
