There needs to be inside bathrooms. There should be cell phone service.

Graves is fabulous for festivals however for prom not so much.. we were always able to make the gym a beautiful place when I was in school as well as my step daughter was there. What happened to communication with parents and students to have popular vote? that is more disappointing than the venue..

My son will not be apart of his senior prom if it is held at Graves. We have all these school gyms and cafeterias it needs to be held at one if them. And that is free also.

There is no reason that prom can't be held at the high school or at the fire hall. The room may not be as big as Germanna but kids will make due. Even when they were traveling to Germanna it was wrong! Aren't we suppose to try to keep our kids safe? Having them travel up 29 to Culpeperand back on prom night is ridiculous! We have a beautiful county and prom should be held right here in Madison. I agree with the students. Graves is beautiful but porta potties and a pavilion? Absolutely ridiculous!

Change the venue. Graves Mountain Lodge is not an ideal location for MCHS Prom.

Graves is a wonderful place, however not suitable for from. It is way to remote for a parent to feel comfortable.

Why don't you guys use early mountain vineyards? It's big and a perfect venue for prom! It's also in a central location for the students!

Why not use the gym at the high school like we did in the 90s

No prom should be held outside with portable restrooms. It needs to be inside with adequate accomidations for both the young ladies and gentleman! This is repulsive and disgusting that it was even suggested let alone decided on!!

It is a shame that one person can ruin it for the entire senior class and for future classes.

I cannot believe this venue for prom was even considered, let alone decided upon without input from studentsand parents! Come on MCHS,you can do much better than this!!!!

This is the worst idea I've heard for a prom. All parents want to be informed by their child when they arrive and leave the prom and obviously they can't do that at graves. Not to mention prom gowns are going to be ruined from being outside and having to use a portable toilet. Also in April it is still cool for these kids to spend 4 hours outside in a mountain only under a pavilion. This is always a dangerous night for our kids and for them to be driving that road late at night with NO cell service, adds to it. I just think bc it's free, the school board or whoever made this decision, jumped on it bc of that. Not thinking of the students in anyway or the parents. Like I said I as a mother, make sure my daughter texts me anytime she goes anywhere to let me know she has arrived safe and having prom there, thwre is no way for any of the parents to know their children are safe. That's more important to me than something being free. Please think of all these things when making a final decision. This is supposed to be a night for our kids to remember not regret they went.

Those roads are too dark and twisty for our young ones to be traveling for prom.

I do like the view at Graves, but SERIOUSLY?! Outdoors for prom and using a porta potty! I would most definitely try and see if you can rent out the fire hall.

I would consider the Firehouse in Madison in the Bay area. There are many parents I'm sure that would be willing to support this idea many of which that are involved in the fire department. Or consider a gym in the school system.

Depends on bathroom, they make nice out door bathrooms hooked to trailer that are nice & very large! However this would have to be parked close to the prom party due to weather! It's great the graves has offerd the place and is charging no cost!
