As a former pupil of this school I have started this petition in the hope that the current Headteacher John McEachern, the staff and Board of Governors come to their senses when they realise the mistake they have made in changing the school name without any public consultation.

This is not only disrespectful to the memory of a great man who sacrificed his own life for the 650 children in the school on that fateful day in March 1943 but disrespectful to those children who have attend the school since.

During my 5 years as a student of The Sanders Draper School one of the greatest lessons I learnt was to fight for what you believe to be right!
