Gutless thugs know how to beat the system. The law should be changed to keep one step ahead of them.

Fully support this petition; this man's life and future has been cruelly taken away, and his family's right to a father and husband stolen by morons, who deserve a punishment to fit their crime. And no parole.

The justice system is not a deterent in this country all because the government cannot fund the prison system . All violent crimes should result in maximum penalties and as this man's life has been effectively taken a life sentence should be issued to all involved !

Far far to lenient. They have wrecked Simon and his families lives and should pay a proper price for their cowardly actions.

Just because there is no insurance company to sue does not mean that Simon's family is not due the same restitution as a car crash victim - where are the lawyers now? The earlier comment here is spot on: - "I believe the offenders should also pay for all medical bills, and provide an income equivalent to your husbands salary for life in restitution for lost earnings."

They should all have received the same sentence but 5 years isn't nearly enough to compensate for the Dobbins family's loss.

No comment needed other than scandalous that lives are blighted for the victim and their loved ones . There has to be significant blight for the perpetrators in return and protection for other potential victims of those responsible .

The sentences are far too lenient and should be doubled because of the severity of their crime.

I believe these men's sentences are unduly lenient, considering the extremely violent nature of their crime.

This surely is attempt murder - there is no doubt of the intent therefore the sentences should reflect the crime.
