Change in examination policies

I strongly support the 'No webcam'! Plus, the exams can't be held as fair/objective because the testing environment isn't consistent amongst students. And 'Ya' the possibility of internet disconnection is huge! In addition, the backtracking should absolutely be available! All of the changes on the syllabus should be now onwards not affecting any test, quiz, or submission we had prior this pandemic chaos.

1) No webcams: Invasion of privacy, some are abroad with poor internet connections, some are in lockdown with their families and have young siblings, some simply don't have webcams. Not all AUS colleges adhere by this, it's not fair. It's uncomfortable for women especially the ones that wear hijab. 2) Either cancelling material OR informing us what’s coming in the exam more precisely from the sections at least a week before the date of the exam. The material is too much to be studied in such a short and tough time. 3) The extra weight in the new syllabus that was added to quizes, should be for NEW quizzes ONLY because it’s not fair to increase the weight of quizzes that we thought had less weight. 4) Team projects assessments should be conducted in a different manner as no real meetings with team members can be conducted without having the tools to work on the project. Also there's no access to the labs or engineering buildings, many of the seniors cannot work on their senior design well. 5) Homes do not make for appropriate exam conditions since some students do not have their own private room, hence exam length and time should be adjusted accordingly or canceled for fair grading. 6) Exam and assignment grades from the beginning of the semester have not been released and so most of us do not know how well or poor their performance is in that course 7) Backtracking should be enabled since exams questions will be shuffled and we might get stuck at the first question and shouldn’t have to make the decision of totally losing the points or wasting time attempting it 8) Many aus students have Mac laptops and none of the online apps works on Mac 9) most course projects require software access and we do not have these softwares in full version or our laptops cannot handle such software 10) There's a chance of laptops crashing during exams and internet signals disconnection.

The 10 points make a lot of sense and take it into consideration plus the University of Sharjah is not conducting Exams. I hope you guys realize the problems we all are facing. Let's hope the pandemic ends soon. let's fight together. Stay home Stay safe. 85736

Assignments are better than exams. ANYONE of the students would choose an assignment. Being under SOO much stress with a camera watching us in our rooms, not being able to move comfortably like we've always done during exams will most defenetly lower our performance. Which is why having assignments over exams is very much more appropriate in this global pandemic right now. Please take these words into consideration because our futures depends on them. Thank you.

We are in a global pandemic! There are way more important things in life right now than exam! Why does AUS insist on making it harder for us. Sometimes they really do act like don’t care about their students
