This is our holiest day of the year. A public school event that excludes students observing a religious holiday is discriminatory! I'm certain they'd NEVER schedule Homecoming on Christmas or Easter!

In this country being majority Christian.having homecoming on a Christian holiday would never be the case. So why is it ok for homecoming to be on one of the mose famous jewish holidays. Just because we are the minority doesn't be we don't matter. Students deserve equal opportunitys and by doing this is complete lack of acknowledgement for other beliefs. In school we learn about change and diversity. How much of a double standard is this?

It is unfair to Jewish students to have it on Yom Kippur.

I feel that it is also very unfair to not move the date of homecoming. If something very fun and once and a life time was coming up, but then you had a very important religious (no matter what religion) holiday you could not pass. How would you feel? Oh yeah that's right, the same way the other 440 people so far feel. Please change the date!!!

first amendment free exercise clause says that the gov't can't favor a specific religion over others and since the school gets government funding and is a public school it is a gov't entity and must follow the law that says that Judaism must be treated equally

all religions should be treated equally and have the same oppurtunities. please change the date. so many communities and families are embarrassed by the fact a school would do this. especially one with a large jewish population. homecoming would never be on christmas, so why put it on the holiest day of the jewish year?

This is something that needs to be changed, for religious equality in full.

The Jews were treated unfair during world war 2. At least let them enjoy homecoming
This is incredibly insensitive and unjust
