We are blessed to have children enrolled in Springfield Catholic Schools, and proud of the reputation for academic excellence and quality education it has earned over the years. However, we believe the current grading scale puts our children at a college admission and scholarship disadvantage. We would like to see a change that would reflect a more even comparison between our students and those in other schools, allowing expanded university enrollment and scholarship opportunities for our students. This change could be in the form of reporting transcripts in percentage form, a conversion to mirror public school grading scales on transcripts, or a complete change in grading scale. Please consider the current economy as this change has the potential to ease the financial burden on families being asked for additional money at their parishes, for the capital campaign fund, and increasing tuition.
