It is simply silly to require such expense for light, small and slow aircraft that stay out of complex airspace!

I support the idea of a portable ADS-b out device for use in VFR only light aircraft. It doesn't make much sense to mandate a device for VFR light aircraft that the typical installation cost is more than 1/2 to total market value of the entire aircraft. The typical mission of most small light VFR aircraft doesn't warrant what is being mandated by the current ADS-b requirement.

Please allow portable ADS-B OUT devices. Many of us fly a variety of light aircraft and want the ability to move devices from one to another aircraft.

Please join me in supporting an affordable ADS-B Out solution so that little airplanes like mine can still fly after the year 2020 deadline. Current installations cost 1/2 to 2/3 the market value of my whole airplane!

There are simpler solutions out there available that do not cost 1/2 the value of the aircraft. If the FAA is truly concerned with the safety of the traveling public they would relax the standards to performance based instead of the onerous equipment based standards they have now. I believe that it is in everyone's best interest to have the ADS-B out equipment and the cost barriers need to be removed.

I am a private pilot, VFR. I own a Tecnam Sierra (SLSA) aircraft.
I hope the FAA will change FAA ADS-B OUT MANDATE to allow portable devices.

We must do all we can to maintain high safety standards for older small planes while not making it outlandishly expensive for their owners.
