Having the debate on a Friday is both a tradition to LO history and a logical date because it allows for the students to be able to relax with a weekend after the debate. Having the debate on a Wednesday like 4/6 forces the student to stay at the Debate zoom meeting until very late into the evening, then that student has to wake up early to go to school the next day.
