That is a ridiculous law to impose on businesses. Having goods and sales outside of a business is a great way to draw potential customers in! It's the same principle as seeing a yard sale while driving down the road. Something catches your eye and you want to stop and see. I can't even imagine what these poor business owners are going through now. These small business owners all had a dream at some point to have their own business, they were faced with inumerous obstacles to even be able to open a business, and now are facing a harsh reality of this new law and how it affects their business. This law is potentially putting sins small business owners out of business and crushing their dreams they worked so very hard for!

This law would be absurd. I enjoy seeing goods outside of businesses. It is like a "welcome, please come in". I hope it doesn't pass. It could make visitors to the area think the businesses had no goods to offer so the economy must not be so good here.

To not allow businesses to showecse their products outside is something that makes no sense to me.This is not a safety measure but just a way to force small businesses to obtain a permit. We need to support our local small businessses in Ocala and make it easier for them to succeed and prosper and are main focus needs to be jobs. Let us get on the right side of this and use common sense and let them have the tools needed to thrive in the community. Thank you!

You've spent thousands of tax dollars to revitalize our downtown, and it has worked well. Now you try to kill the small business people with this lunacy. It doesn't work both ways. If the business owners lose business, they close shop. If they close shop, the owners of the buildings lose revenue. And in the end, YOU lose. Small business owners need your SUPPORT, not a sidewalk gestapo. Come on City of Ocala, get behind the small businesses. THEY keep the unemployment rate down AND pay taxes!
