A worthwhile idea. "Duly recognized" organizations, activities, and persons should be able to post. The rest can be stamped. Thank you.

Excellent idea- fewer hurdles, nicer-looking flyers, perhaps more student engagement

While there are many other problems i feel the college needs to work on more, this is certainly a good change too.

Professional college flyers don't look good with the stamp of approval from Student Life.

While I agree completely with the petition, I would like to add the following items to the petition, if I may:
- that the bulletin boards in college buildings be SPECIFIED as to their use: events, courses, general announcements, ... If every flyer is posted on every available board, it defeats the purpose of the message. There some some boards in the science bldg for students to post newspaper articles on - they are not for general use.
- that the person(s) responsible for posting flyers or notices also REMOVE them after the event is over. I am one of the people who cleans up the boards in the science building, I WILL remove even official messages from the boards outside Sci 107 and Sci 114, as they are not for college postings.

I understand that the intent of the current policy is good, but I also feel that less "red tape" is usually better and that the college needs to create an atmosphere of trust and open communication. Hampering the sharing of information may mean that valuable opportunities are missed and may lead to less student engagement when the school's goal is more engagement.

Especially needed since signs without the stamp were removed this semester before an event took place.

It's about time! Student life has an oppressive paperwork regime that stifles student creativity and involvement. Policies need to facilitate student involvement, not put up barriers

I feel this should change but to keep the school informed of what is being posted a copy of said posting should be delivered to student life office
