To whom this may concern,

It seems there are many students in therapeutic recreation that have been affected by this global pandemic. The information that we have been provided so far does not seem to be a practical reaction concerning the requirements needed for graduation. As other institutions are turning towards technology for class completion, please consider an alternative method for internship completion.

For all spring internships in 2020 please

• Extend the 60-day break (most places are closing down longer than that)
• Allow the internship to pick up where it left off when coming back from a break (not at 7 weeks)
• Or create a viable, temporary alternative in order to fulfill graduation requirements on time because of this unforeseen situation

This pandemic is not our fault and we want to be able to deal with it in a healthy way while graduating on time and on budget. Most of the internships are unpaid and extending our time or making us redo it will cause a serious financial burden that most of us are not prepared for. We have the education, put in the time, paid our dues, and just want to finish what we have started. Please consider a realistic alternative to spring 2020 internships as we are all trying to work through this national emergency.

Please contact the schools or post on social media with alternative methods concerning these issues as soon as possible, as this is critical to all students involved.
