On 7th Nov, I took LRT from KL Sentral around 8.30pm to return from work. The train stopped at KLCC station for 30 minutes just for them to announce that we should get off and take another form of transport. I have a few more stations until I arrive home. It was raining and most of us had to take Grab to go home.
On 8th Nov, I went back from office early which is 5.00pm. I was devasted as I see the LRT entrance CLOSED OFF without any prior notice. I took the bus as Grab was too expensive and only arrive home at 7.10pm. If I were to take LRT the journey home wouldn't even take 30 minutes minus the peak hour queue. Bus ride took 2 hours for me as the route is longer, I had to transit 2 times, and the traffic was really bad. The rain was so heavy I arrived home SOAKING even with umbrella.
RapidKL announced at 5.00am on 9th Nov that the train will not be in use from 9 - 15 Nov. FIVE IN THE MORNING! I then decided to WFH because it is too much trouble to go to office with this issue at hand. I feel really sorry for those who doesn't have the choice to WFH as they had to find resolutions in the last minute. We are working people, we do not have the luxury to waste our time waiting for transport or spending too much on just transport to work.
RapidKL Management and team DID NOT show any compassion and empathy towards the users. They announced everything at the last minute which didn't allow proper planning from the user's side. It is raining season and best they could do is provide shelter for those affected. Instead, the passengers had to cramp in the limited space as they have closed off the gates to the stations. I do not blame RapidKL employees as they are only receiving orders from above. However, I did not see any official apology or statement from their management's side. No one is taking responsibility, hence, I agree none of them are worth their positions and should be laid off.
