I Support Recycling @ CFCC
We, the students, faculty and staff of Cape Fear Community College formally request the implementation of a comprehensive campus-wide waste recycling program.
- For the good of the CFCC community, we call upon you to join a growing movement to strengthen recycling at CFCC. By signing, we are collectively taking action to request comprehensive campus-wide recycling.
- The CFCC Sustainability Committee would like to draft a Campus-Wide Recycling Program Plan. A plan which calls for formal education and training, as well as recycling stations to be placed across campus with clearly labeled containers, allowing for hassle-free recycling.
- Meaningful recycling programs are industry standard for colleges and universities across the United States and fostered by organizations such as the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), which provides both general plans for programs, as well as grants to strengthen institutions’ efforts at implementing recycling plans. By funding and implementing a comprehensive recycling plan, CFCC will significantly reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators, conserve resources, and uphold the North Carolina Landfill Ban which prohibits the disposal of plastic bottles with ordinary trash.
