In Ireland and many other countries only women between the age of 25 - 60 are encouraged to have a free smear test for cervical cancer. I believe this decision should be reversed to at the very least 18 + and I hope everyone gets on bored and sign the petition please could potentially save lives. I recently read an article that genuinely touched me, a young woman age 24 went to the doctor with terrible back pain and was not offered a smear test that could have saved her life because she was considered to be too young eventually she got the smear and it was too late the smear confirmed that the young girl had terminal cervical cancer and died months later. What does it take for the government to rectify this young women dying?

I myself come from a family whom my mother suffered from Cervical Cancer and my Aunt also suffered the same but it spread rapidly battled for 3/4 years who passed away last year at such a young age leaving 5 young children behind her.

Once a woman has become sexually active they should receive a regular pap smear your not too young to get cervical cancer women can die due to this it is serious.
Its a vital check for women and it should be given to anyone who feels that they may need one.Safe than sorryYou can drink, smoke, gamble, have kids, get married but not been entitled to a smear that could potentially save your life.Prevention is better than Cure.
