We established this web site not only to express our disappointment with the present governmental structures in New Orleans, but to exercise our right as citizens whose neighborhoods have been neglected. We will dare dream to hope for a better city. We will exercise our right as citizens to discuss, discover and implement new and inspiring ways to put our tax dollars to the best use for us, the citizens of New Orleans East and the Lower Ninth Ward. We collectively provide 42% of the tax base of Orleans Parish. Yet, we receive less than 10% of the services provided by the present administration and the City Council.

The city administrators have not given an adequate explanation or accountability of the use of funds. Nor, have they neither entertained adequate questions nor given answers put forth by the people of New Orleans East and the Lower Ninth Ward regarding these funds. Even before Katrina, our tax dollars were being used to provide help to and services for parts of the city other than our own neighborhoods. Monies were used to upgrade other neighborhoods in various ways.

As a result of this divergence of funds We have suffered. we are subjected to inadequate crime prevention, and underfunded police protection. Improper use of an under repaired roads and utilities are factors that directly have a negative impact on our quality of life. With all these negatives one would think that to re-occupy and improve these areas would be a hopeless endeavor. Yet, contrary to what was hoped for by those who refuse to assist us, over 100,000 residents have returned with the hopes of achieving a “Better Quality of Life.”
