In June 2012, Rangers Football Club was consigned to liquidation as a result of two decades of living beyond their means in pursuit of league titles, cups and competition prize money.

The assets of Rangers FC wereacquired by Sevco (Scotland) Ltd, now renamed The Rangers Football Club Ltd, and the new club was allowed to join the Scottish Football League in Division 3 in August 2012.

Since then, the club, with the acquiescence ofthefootball governing authorities in Scotland, has claimed to be the same club that acquired those honours.

In the event that Celtic is drawn to play against The Rangers FC in the Scottish League Cup (or on anyfuture occasion when Celtic plays them), we the undersigned call on Celtic FC to ensure that any promotional materials issued by the club for the match includes a clear, unambiguous statement to the effect that the opposition is a new club formed in 2012 and that this will bethe first ever occasion that Celtic will play against them.
