A few years ago, my car broke down just after Manitou, on our way to Holiday Mountain and we were stranded. There was a gas station back down the road in Manitou with a payphone. Except the payphone wouldn't work because it didn't recognize the change and the operator wouldn't patch us through. The gas station attendant wasn't helpful either because he wouldn't let us make a call back to Winnipeg because it was "a long distance call". If we had cell service, we wouldn't have gone through all the hassle!!

Cell service in La Riviere would allow me to spend more days at the hill with my kids, as well as make my job easier as we rely on cellular service for computer work and safety when in La Riviere.

No cell service? How stoneage is that? I hope this doesn't mean no wifi too! MTS, Rogers and the like are not the only option - check local providers who can offer better service at only marginally higher costs.
