It would be most beneficial if cell phone coverage was upgraded to include the corridor from Mt. Currie to D'Arcy

The cost to you would be long distance charges only but depending on your plan, it would be no different than you using your cell phone to call any one in BC /Canada or the US, for instance if you have Rogers or Bell or Telus their plans are all different.Rogers has a plan called MY ten it lets you call any one of the numbers you have registered to your my Ten so you pay nothing any where in Canada 24/7 but any one else not on your My ten you would pay a normal long distance charge depending of course where you called and you would be charged an amount depending on your plan for instance some plans have unlimited Canada / US calling so if you had that plan you would pay nothing.I live in Whistler and have a place on Anderson lake,if I go to the city and call Whistler I pay a long distance charges or if I call the city from Whistler I pay a long distance charges if I am in Whistler and call a Whistler Number I pay nothing. Also when towers go up other companies share in costs and especially if they are remote not in all cases but yes they do share in costs at times, for instance Vancouver to Whistler they all have their own towers other places maybe one carrier has a tower and the others would piggy back off it for a fee to whom ever owned or put up the tower. You mentioned that is why you live up there or have a place up there and why you live there to not be connected well don't turn your phone on then when your there.
Patti your concerns are dully noted but lets say if you had a medical problem or your neighbour did or a fire or a car accident or came across a Car accident where ever you are up there who would you call or if the power was out you would have no telephone service or internet service or if one of you family had a problem how would they get a hold of you to let you know when your up where ever. You have North Van listed on your post so by the looks of things you have a second place some where up there.so if you holiday up there and don't like ph

Would the cost of this be covered by current cell phone coverage. Or, would there be roaming charges similar to those when one crosses the border into the US?
Who would the cell coverage be provided through?
Is there to be a competition placed between the cell phone companies or is this one that will be provided by the BIG 3 and sounds like it provides cell services, but in fact, it won't if you didn't buy in to the RIGHT company?

This IPETITION site is biased. This is a SITE to AGREE. Not to discuss or disagree.
Simply by joining the petition it delivers a positive vote. I have only opened this site to read the comments of others and to get an understanding of the concerns. After adding a comment, I pressed ENTER, and noted that I had been added as a PRO vote. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
Being connected all the time to others is not necessarily what we all wish. Being disconnected can be a good thing. Isn't that why many of us chose residency in this area?

Been a resident in the area since 1994. And although I understand how the emergency needs are prevalent, I have other issues to bring to light.
