I bet if it were someone's family on the council this would not be happening. As someone stated before. ...have respect. Keep sacred things sacred. Don't let your dulled sense of respect for humanity take over.

Just hold a town meeting first:) it's really not that hard to hold a meeting, explore the options, then make a decision based off of input from everyone;) if this is really the picture where they want to "widen" the road it doesn't make sense to widen a road inside the cemetery's boundary! How many people travel through their anyways? 1-2 a week? I was thinking the country was widening a county road from expansion and needed more room? That's fine! This pic shows headstones on both sides of the road

show respect for those that have deceased. I recently returned from France and was in Japan 2 years ago. Narrow roads are kept in both countries rather than taking that which is historic. they are preserving their native land. Can we not preserve a graveyard!

It is illegal to begin work on a project BEFORE holding a town meeting and notifying plot owners and their heirs. What you have done is not just crazy and disrespectful, it is ILLEGAL! Cease and desist immediately until a mutual agreement with all parties can be reached!!

Please do not widen the road. Please leave grass intact. Please do not disturb headstones by making them part of the driving paths. Please have more respect for the past and the future than this project appears to have.

Why do town councils have to ruin everything? Respect the town and the people in it. Its still an active cemetery. Don't ruin it, don't widen the road until everyone agrees, or don't do it at all.

So my understanding is the prepaid graves the new road would cover are at a loss and those already buried there now get to have a road running over them and we get to pay to move their head stones at our own expense. Really?!

It's rest in peace, not rest till your in the way or rest till its inconvenient. Leave sacred resting places alone.

I have family in the this cemetery, The people who are doing this obviously have never laid to rest a loved one that they honor and respect, Your putting a burden on people and have no respect for those who have passed on, Building a road across graves and driving across them,Comeon!
