A Cemetery is considered SACRED and should NOT be treated this way. The people buried there should be respected and their loved ones also.

When you lay a family member to rest, they should stay there! Headstones should not be moved for a road. Not ever.

This is just not right! Where is the respect??? These graves are the final resting place for these people. I'm sure most of the graves have had a dedicatory prayer to pretect the grounds and grave site. I just can't believe that people are really doing this. It's totally wrong!!

This is absolutely asinine! If you move head stones, you have to move remains. And lord knows they won't do that! It's not a head stone you're visiting, it's the person who's name is on it. HAVE SOME RESPECT!!

This is absurd!!! COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS ! How about when you die I go run over your grave . These graves have been dedicated as a final resting place and the lots have been paid for by the dead and their families. This is deification of a grave an should be punished as such.

I would be FURIOUS to have mine or anyone's family members dug up and moved just because the spot where they had been laid to rest. How can the city EVEN consider asking for them to be moved??

This is something that should be discussed at length with more people, especially those that have generations of family buried there.

This project should be stopped. I have many family members buried there including my grandma, grandpa and great grandparents. I thought that we are all suppose to have the up most respect for the dead, including not stepping on the headstones when you walk thru the cemetery. Let alone drive on and over a grave. Who does this?

Y'all need to notify all the family that have loved ones buried there. And honestly why does that need to be two lanes anyways?? Just leave it be, stop waisting money

Yes, please! Many of us are willing to help with the solution. Please stop making changes until a better plan can be created. Because headstones are memorials and monuments to honor our dead, they should not be disturbed. GPR (ground penetrating radar) could be used to insure that no roadways pass over graves. Road lines can be redrawn. Measurements of the cemetery can be taken from other reference points besides the roads. The preservation of our cemetery and steps to improve its records is of utmost importance. Families of those involved need to be involved in this decision.
There HAS to be a better way.
