The Town Council finally backed down and halted their reckless plans for the cemetery. They had no choice but to listen after we refused to let them steamroll our history. Stay ready because we are going to keep watching them to make sure this stays finished.

The Cedar Fort Town Council continues to bury their heads in the sand while ignoring the families who have actual ties to this land. We are digging through every historical record we can find to prove they have no right to strip away the character of this cemetery. Do not let them think this silence means we have forgotten their disrespect.

Without knowing all the details, it would seem to me that there has to be a better solution than to disturb established graves. I am thinking some additional study and input should be given to find a new solution. Disturbing established grave sites should not be taken so lightly.
It is illegal to begin work on a project BEFORE holding a town meeting and notifying plot owners and their heirs. What you have done is not just crazy and disrespectful, it is ILLEGAL! Cease and desist immediately until a mutual agreement with all parties can be reached!!
Stop,think, how would you feel if some one wanted to move your parent or grand parents grave. They paid for their plot. Please work things out with the posterity of the people buried there that you wish to move. You will be reopening the pain of losing their loved ones.
show respect for those that have deceased. I recently returned from France and was in Japan 2 years ago. Narrow roads are kept in both countries rather than taking that which is historic. they are preserving their native land. Can we not preserve a graveyard!
So my understanding is the prepaid graves the new road would cover are at a loss and those already buried there now get to have a road running over them and we get to pay to move their head stones at our own expense. Really?!
I was just informed by one of the family members of the deceased that THEY are expected to pay for relocation! That is utterly ridiculous... (on top of all the other stress and confusion about this issue).
This is horrible! Im sure if it was any of their relatives things would be different.

This makes me so sad! My Dad is burried in this cemetery, right next to the road. How can someone do this without contacting the families? This is my peaceful place to visit not only my Father, but many relatives.
